The primary responsibility of a Flight Attendant is to ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during flight. Key duties include: ensuring passenger safety and comfort, contributing to a positive work environment, preparing and serving in-flight refreshments, assisting with baggage, delivering announcements, providing leadership in emergencies, resolving passenger issues, ensuring regulatory compliance through the inspection of cabin equipment, and adhering to established procedures without direct supervision.
Minimum requirements include being at least 21 years of age, possessing a high school diploma or equivalent, and having a valid U.S. or foreign passport with at least 12 months validity post-application, along with any required visas for travel to the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. Applicants must demonstrate excellent English communication skills, proficiency with electronic devices, and a willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for up to 16 hours. The role requires frequent travel and the ability to spend lengthy periods of time alone and unsupervised, as well as relocation to a company-assigned crew domicile post-training. Physical requirements include specific height and weight parameters to ensure safe operation of the aircraft and ability to perform tasks such as walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Corrected vision should not exceed 20/40, and hearing should be within a normal or corrected range of 15-17 kHz. A professional, neat, and clean appearance is required, with limitations on hair styles and colors, piercings, and visible tattoos. Employees will wear a company-issued uniform and required face covering.
New hire flight attendants are guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve after successful completion of initial training, with a starting base pay of $28.86 per flight hour ($2,193.36 gross per month based on 76 hours), in addition to $2.25 per diem for every hour on duty away from the assigned domicile.
