Flight Attendant

Position Purpose
The Flight Attendant is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers aboard the aircraft, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all regulatory and assigned cabin duties, providing constant attention to guests for a safe and comfortable onboard experience.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper use of all emergency equipment on board the aircraft.
- Operates all emergency exits and aircraft equipment safely, utilizing necessary movements and exerting force up to and including 70 pounds when required.
- Provides food and beverage service to passengers, which includes pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with stowing carry-on baggage, capable of lifting items weighing up to and including 35 pounds.
- Ensures the cabin environment remains neat and orderly throughout the flight.
- Contributes to reliable and on-time operations by collaborating effectively with other crew members to meet all required report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Executes inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Supports other Customer Service staff as needed with passenger handling or related duties.
- Maintains reliable and prompt attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Presents a professional image at all times, both in conduct and appearance, strictly adhering to the Company uniform dress code.
- Complies with all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Keeps current with all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Fosters the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience:
- Possesses a high school diploma or GED.
- Has at least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within an aviation setting.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Other Requirements:
- Exhibits polished interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive attitude and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Must be willing to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must be able and willing to serve and handle food items including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Able to work in environments involving animals and around other allergens and products.
- Adheres to the Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding tattoos: tattoos are not permitted on the head, face, neck (including behind the ear), chest, hands, or fingers. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, ankles, and feet must be less than 2” x 3.25” or fully covered by an approved method.
- Must possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater to safely reach and operate all necessary equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety, must be able to sit in the Flight Attendant jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without an extender or modification that compromises harness integrity. The lap belt measures 50 inches and the shoulder harness 40 inches when fastened.
- Must not have multiple visible piercings while in uniform.
Language Skills:
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Capable of effectively presenting information to and responding to questions from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Must be able to speak and be clearly understood in English, including shouting verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning/Problem Solving Ability:
- Willing to work in a time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with meeting deadlines and handling unexpected changes.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of and multiple instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to remain calm, think clearly, and react quickly in all types of emergency situations, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, turbulence, etc.
Decision Making:
- Makes day-to-day operational decisions that are often structured but may require careful thought.
- Able to process information rapidly and react positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Capable of controlling personal and emotional responses and acting appropriately under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands
- Must possess the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, using necessary movements and exerting force up to and including 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to and including 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Able to walk and stand for extended periods, including during aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to clearly hear verbal communications in person and over airplane communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly in a confined environment.
- Able to work extended duty periods on sequential days.
Work Environment
- Able and willing to work in a culturally diverse atmosphere and interact professionally with passengers and crew under stressful conditions.
- Ability to accommodate customers’ special needs/disabilities.
- Willing and able to work for extended periods, including a varied schedule with early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel Requirements
Requires travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights. Willingness to relocate based on the Company’s operational needs.
