Second in Command Pilot - Rampart Aviation

Position Overview

Rampart Aviation is actively seeking a qualified Second in Command (SIC) Pilot to join its esteemed flight operations team. The successful candidate will serve as SIC for the company's modern fleet of turboprop aircraft, contributing to the safe and efficient execution of flight missions. This role requires a strong foundation in multi-engine aircraft operations and a commitment to upholding the highest aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Second In Command duties in support of Rampart Aviation's flight operations.
  • Maintain residency within the operational area of Point Mugu, CA (KNTD) and support base requirements.
  • Operate primarily within CONUS, with potential for short-term deployments as required.
  • Conduct flight operations under the regulatory frameworks of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 91, 105, and 135.
  • Adhere strictly to all Company Operations Manuals, Military Operations Procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations in the performance of all duties.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Ratings and certifications:

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-engine Land rating.
  • A valid First or Second Class FAA Medical Certificate.

Minimum Flight Experience

Preferred candidates will demonstrate proficiency through the following flight hour minimums:

  • 1,000 hours Total Flight Time.
  • 500 hours Multi-Engine Flight Time.

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold a valid U.S. Passport.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; a Secret Personal Security Clearance is strongly desired.

Desirable Qualifications

  • R-ATP (Restricted Airline Transport Pilot) rating.
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) ratings are considered advantageous.

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to perform duties involving climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and extensive walking, often in tiring or uncomfortable positions. The role may involve lifting objects exceeding 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment

The work environment encompasses a range of conditions, from minimal physical discomfort to environments with inclement weather, including severe changes in temperature, wind, and rain. Travel to austere, high-stress environments may be required. Candidates may be exposed to high noise hazards, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
