Position Summary
Executive Jet Management is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command position operating a Learjet 45XR aircraft based in Nashville, TN. This is a dedicated 3-pilot account anticipating 400-450 flight hours annually, operating under EJM’s Part 135 certificate. This opportunity is open to home-based candidates possessing reasonable commute options to the Nashville base.
The Pilot in Command bears final responsibility for ensuring the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot in Command’s duties encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Confirms that crewing and trip assignments meet company and regulatory standards.
- Completes necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment.
- Utilizes the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct required briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as needed. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator according to company policy.
- Performs comprehensive aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verifying the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure mission readiness. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitors and ensures all aircraft ground servicing items, such as fueling, oil, and oxygen, are accomplished per SOPs.
- Conducts passenger briefings in compliance with company policy and regulations. Provides the highest level of customer service, accommodating any special passenger needs, including those who are physically challenged.
- Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) techniques for clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to aircraft owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations promptly.
- Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent service experience for owners and passengers. Addresses conflicts and challenges professionally.
- Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains current regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
Qualified candidates will possess:
- Prior experience in Part 135 flying operations.
- FAA Type Rating for the Learjet 45XR is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
