Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and global jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Challenger 300 based in Santa Ana, California. This Part 91 operation, supporting a two-pilot crew and a maintenance technician, involves less than 225 flight hours annually within the continental United States. This is a locally based position; candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Santa Ana area.
The PIC assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This encompasses adherence to all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Ensuring Flight Safety: The PIC will ensure crew assignments meet all company and regulatory standards, complete comprehensive flight planning (including performance calculations and weight and balance), utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology for risk mitigation, meticulously adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), act as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator (per company policy), conduct thorough pre-flight aircraft inspections, accurately document any discrepancies, oversee ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen), and conduct passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, catering to the specific needs of all passengers. Proficient application of Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) is essential for effective communication with crew and support personnel in all operational phases.
Delivering Exceptional Service: The PIC will proactively provide superior service to owners and passengers, identifying and addressing service improvements. Collaboration with crew members and internal EJM partners is crucial for maintaining consistent service excellence, including effective conflict resolution.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance: The successful candidate will maintain all required regulatory and company training and demonstrate current experience. Active participation in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program, including prompt reporting of safety concerns or non-compliance issues, is expected.
Significant experience in corporate/business aviation is required.
Residency in, or willingness to relocate to, the Santa Ana area is mandatory.
FAA Type rating in the CL300 series (strongly preferred).
Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
Minimum flight time requirements:
Total flight time: 3,500 hours
Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
PIC MEL: 500 hours
Instrument: 300 hours
Jet: 500 hours
$150,000 - $200,000 annually.
