Airplane Captain - Executive Aviation
Job Summary
Huntington is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Airplane Captain to join its esteemed executive flight department. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional transportation of Huntington executives and distinguished guests on the company's corporate aircraft. The Airplane Captain will uphold the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and customer service while operating within a dynamic Part 91 environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans and executes safe and efficient flight operations, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and best aviation practices.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with flight crew members, ground staff, passengers, and other essential stakeholders to facilitate seamless and coordinated operations.
- Maintains a superior level of technical proficiency and in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, performance characteristics, and current Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight checks, comprehensive briefings, and meticulous post-flight debriefings, while continuously monitoring weather conditions to ensure the utmost safety for all flight operations.
- Accurately documents and reconciles all aviation-related expenses, maintaining precise financial records.
- Ensures the aircraft interior is meticulously cleaned, appropriately stocked, and prepared to the highest standards prior to each flight.
- Completes all required flight documentation with precision and in a timely manner.
- Provides essential maintenance support when needed and assists with the accurate updating of aviation databases.
- Demonstrates on-call availability to respond on short notice for critical flight assignments, including operations during days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive aviation experience, with a preference for experience in a corporate or executive transport environment.
- Possession of a current and valid Challenger 300/350 Type Rating (CL30).
- Holds a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Accumulated a minimum of 4,000 total flight hours, including at least 1,000 hours of multi-engine turbine time and 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
- Meets all Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 61.56, 61.57, and 61.58 currency requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First-Class Medical Certificate as per FAR Part 61.
- Possession of a valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field.
- Extensive experience operating corporate jet aircraft in accordance with FAR Part 91 regulations.
- Possession of a valid U.S. Passport with the unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
- Demonstrated excellent communication, exceptional leadership, and decisive decision-making skills.
This is an Exempt position.
This role is primarily office-based in Columbus, OH. Certain positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, combining in-office presence with remote work, as determined by the hiring team.
