Job Title: Lead Captain (Challenger 300)

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and subsidiary of NetJets, is seeking a professional and experienced Lead Captain for a Challenger 300 aircraft based in Muscle Shoals, AL (KMSL). This role supports an established flight department operating under Part 91, managed by a four-pilot crew with dedicated maintenance support. This is a residential position requiring the candidate to reside in or relocate to the Muscle Shoals area.

Position Summary

The Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) acts as a peer-leader for the flight department, focusing on crew resource management, superior client service, and administrative oversight. The Lead PIC maintains an active flight schedule while ensuring full compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Department Leadership: Manages client relationships, coordinates maintenance activities (scheduled and unscheduled), conducts administrative tasks (invoicing, audits, vendor relations), and supports crew development to meet organizational goals.
  • Flight Operations: Ensures operational compliance with regulations and company SOPs. Leads flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks. Utilizes the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to manage operational risk.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintains proficiency in CRM and TEM protocols. Monitors aircraft status, ground servicing, and security coordinator duties. Ensures the flight department adheres to the company Safety Management System (SMS) and regulatory training requirements.
  • Service Excellence: Delivers high-level service to owners and passengers. Resolves service deviations and collaborates with crew members to ensure a consistent, professional experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior leadership experience in corporate or business aviation is required.
  • CL-300 type rating is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum Flight Experience:
    • Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours
    • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
    • PIC Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
