Lead Captain - Challenger 300
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a professional and experienced Lead Captain for a Challenger 300 aircraft based in Muscle Shoals, AL (KMSL). This is an established Part 91 flight department featuring a 4-pilot crew and dedicated maintenance support. This position requires local residence in or relocation to the Muscle Shoals area.

Position Purpose
The Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) acts as a peer-leader for the flight department, focusing on crew resource management, exceptional client service, and administrative oversight. The Lead PIC participates in the flight schedule while maintaining full PIC duties and expectations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Flight Department Leadership

Manage client relationships and proactively communicate to address operational needs.

Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled events, audits, and aircraft tasks.

Oversee administrative duties, including invoice reviews, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling.

Support and motivate crew members while representing the EJM brand.

Manage flight department resources, including supplies, subscriptions, and internal communications.
Operational Safety

Ensure flight assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.

Execute flight planning, performance, and weight and balance calculations.

Utilize Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to manage risks.

Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and fulfill duties as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator.

Conduct thorough pre-flight tasks, record aircraft discrepancies, and monitor ground servicing requirements.

Perform passenger briefings and ensure high-level service for all travelers.

Employ Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear, timely communication.
Service Excellence and Compliance

Deliver high-quality service and resolve service deviations promptly.

Collaborate with internal partners to ensure a consistent, professional experience.

Maintain proficiency through company-required training and recency of experience.

Adhere to the company Safety Management System (SMS) and report safety concerns.

Ensure all crewmembers remain qualified and compliant with internal policies and audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements

Prior leadership experience in corporate/business aviation.

CL-300 type rating is strongly preferred.

Total flight time: 3,500 hours.

Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours.

Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours.

PIC MEL: 500 hours.

Instrument time: 300 hours.

Jet time: 500 hours.
