Second in Command (SIC) - Challenger 300/350 Pilot

Jet Linx invites applications for a highly qualified Second in Command (SIC) to operate its Super Midsize jet aircraft, specifically the Challenger 300/350, under Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. This full-time position is based in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate is expected to reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out time of their designated home base.
Position Summary:
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. This role is responsible for preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with both company requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent communication with the company for standby duty assignments, trip notifications, precise position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Effectively manage and maintain Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensure all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily available.
- Maintain a current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrate strong, proactive, and sound decision-making skills.

Minimum Qualifications and Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of an Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Current FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S.
- Possession of a current, valid passport with unrestricted travel capabilities to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Willingness to authorize and pass a comprehensive FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted with a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as flight schedules demand.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Ability to frequently move and lift up to 50 pounds.
- The majority of work is completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
Preferred Qualification:
- Initial or recurrent FAA Part 142 training in Challenger 300/350 type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Jet Linx offers a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting base annual salary for this position ranges from $124,000 to $160,000. The actual base salary awarded is dependent upon geographic location, specific aircraft size (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, paid time off, and company-paid life and short-term disability coverage.
