Pilot in Command (PIC) – Challenger 300

Position Summary

The Pilot in Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned aircraft, ensuring full compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and operational procedures. This role serves as the final authority on all decisions regarding the aircraft and its operation, requiring exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a focus on passenger service.

Schedule & Program Overview: This position supports a Part 135 operation flying a Challenger 300 based in Dallas, TX. The typical schedule includes 8 hard days off per month, with approximately 280-310 flight hours annually. The crew consists of 2 captains conducting domestic and international missions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assume final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft on all assigned flights.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including weather analysis, performance calculations, routing, fuel planning, and airworthiness checks.
  • Lead Crew Resource Management (CRM) to maintain high levels of coordination and communication.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers, serving as the primary point of contact during flights.
  • Actively engage in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) to identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Mentor First Officers and other flight crew members to foster professional growth.
  • Complete all required post-flight documentation, trip reports, and logbook entries.
  • Maintain currency with FAA regulations, medical certifications, and company training requirements.

Qualifications

  • Flight Experience:
    • Minimum 5,000 total flight hours.
    • 2,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
    • 2,500 hours multi-engine land (including 1,500 hours as multi-engine PIC).
    • 2,000 hours in turbine aircraft and 500 hours instrument time.
  • Certifications:
    • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating.
    • Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
    • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit (preferred).
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning, and safety management systems.
    • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities with sound decision-making skills under pressure.
    • Proficiency in flight planning and aviation management software.
  • Experience: Previous experience in Part 135 operations is highly desirable.
