Second in Command (SIC) - Bombardier Challenger 300/350

Jet Linx, a premier private aviation company, is actively seeking highly qualified and dedicated candidates for the position of Second in Command (SIC) for its Super Midsize jet aircraft fleet, specifically the Bombardier Challenger 300/350. This full-time role is integral to supporting both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The successful candidate is expected to reside or be willing to relocate within a two-hour call-out radius of the Chicago, IL home base.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. This critical role is responsible for preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, strictly adhering to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Total Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Essential Functions
- Manages duty, flight, and rest times in strict compliance with both company requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintains consistent communication with the company for standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Maintains and diligently manages Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensures the currency of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company manuals.
- Maintains a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrates strong, proactive decision-making skills in all operational contexts.
- Upholds and exemplifies Jet Linx's core values in all professional interactions.
Other Requirements
- Possession of an Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Valid FCC Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator Permit.
- Initial or Recurrent FAA Part 142 training in the Challenger 300/350 type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the U.S.
- Possession of a current, valid passport with unrestricted ability to travel to all European Union, Canadian, and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and submit to random drug/alcohol testing when required by regulations.
- Ability to successfully complete and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with the System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent extensive work experience is required.
- Physical ability to frequently move up to 50 pounds, with the majority of work completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx offers a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting annual base salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $124,000 to $160,000. The actual base salary provided is dependent upon geographic location, specific aircraft size (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
