Corporate Pilot - Captain (Stratford, CT)

Based in Stratford, CT, this pivotal role reports directly to the Director, Aviation Operations. The Captain is entrusted with the paramount responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of the company’s flight assignments, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence in corporate aviation.
Key Responsibilities
The Corporate Pilot - Captain will perform a wide range of critical duties, including:
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure all aircraft systems are fully operational and prepared for flight.
- Operating corporate aircraft safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to all federal and local aviation regulations, Hubbell’s comprehensive Flight Operations Manual, and internal company policies and procedures.
- Strategically determining optimal departure times and routes, continuously monitoring dynamic weather conditions, and adeptly adjusting flight plans as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Taking full ownership for conducting each flight in a safe, prudent, and professional manner, aligning with stringent industry and company standards.
- Maintaining meticulous and accurate flight logs, trip paperwork, and all other required documentation in strict accordance with current operational procedures.
- Demonstrating and maintaining a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including comprehensive understanding of all emergency systems and associated procedures.
- Conducting in-depth analysis of area, enroute, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and designated alternates.
- Actively supporting and contributing to an open safety culture by sharing information on all safety-related issues and promptly reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
- Managing scheduling and creation of passenger manifests, utilizing the company’s flight scheduling system proficiently.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role operates within a dynamic environment that includes both heavy maintenance facilities and upscale customer interaction areas. While the typical noise level is moderate, occasional high volume may occur during aircraft arrivals and departures. The position requires the ability to work comfortably in all types of weather conditions and involves significant domestic and international travel.
The physical demands of this role require the Corporate Pilot - Captain to frequently use hands and fingers for precise manipulation, handle, feel, or reach. Extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting are common. Occasional requirements include climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The Captain must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds above their head.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a robust background and meet the following qualifications:
- A college degree in Aviation or a related field is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a current Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with an appropriate Aircraft Type Rating for the Bombardier CL30.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum flight experience requirements include:
- 5,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 2,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 500 hours Night flight time.
- 500 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience, with a strong preference for experience gained within a corporate or company flight department.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and willingness to travel worldwide as required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, PowerPoint, and Excel is a significant advantage.
