Hubbell Incorporated invites applications for the position of Corporate Pilot (Captain), based in Stratford, CT. Reporting directly to the Director, Aviation Operations, the Captain is primarily responsible for the safe, efficient, and secure conduct of all company flight assignments. This role places a paramount emphasis on safety, security, and quality in every aspect of flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Corporate Pilot (Captain) will undertake a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections to ensure all aircraft systems are fully functional and the aircraft is prepared for departure.
  • Operating aircraft safely and efficiently, in strict adherence to all federal and local aviation regulations, Hubbell’s Flight Operations Manual, and other established company policies and procedures.
  • Determining optimal departure times and routes, continuously monitoring weather conditions, and making necessary adjustments to flight plans.
  • Executing all flights in a safe and prudent manner, in full compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Maintaining accurate flight logs, trip paperwork, and all other required documentation in accordance with current procedures.
  • Maintaining a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including comprehensive understanding of all emergency systems and associated procedures.
  • Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and any designated alternates.
  • Actively supporting the open sharing of information regarding all safety issues and promptly reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
  • Managing flight scheduling, creating manifests, and proficiently operating the company’s flight scheduling system.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Education: A college degree in Aviation or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications & Licenses:
    • Must possess and maintain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
    • Must hold an appropriate Aircraft Type Rating for the Bombardier CL30.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Flight Hours:
    • 5,000 hours Total Fixed Wing
    • 2,500 hours Multi-Engine Land
    • 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command
    • 1,500 hours Turbojet
    • 1,500 hours Turbine time
    • 500 hours Night
    • 500 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience, preferably gained within a corporate or company environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, PowerPoint, and Excel is considered a significant advantage.
  • Continuous Learning: A strong commitment to continuing education is crucial to remain current with the latest aviation technologies and evolving regulations within the industry.
  • Availability: Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules and travel worldwide as required by operational demands.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The Corporate Pilot operates within diverse work environments, including heavy maintenance facilities and upscale customer areas. While the noise level is typically moderate, it may occasionally be high during aircraft arrivals and departures. The nature of the job requires adaptability to all types of weather conditions and involves extensive travel.

Physically, the role demands frequent use of hands and fingers for handling, feeling, or reaching. The incumbent must frequently stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Occasional requirements include climbing or balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above the head, is essential.
