Second in Command - Challenger 300/350

Jet Linx is seeking qualified Second in Command (SIC) candidates for its Super Midsize jet aircraft fleet. This role involves conducting safe and efficient Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations aboard Challenger 300/350 aircraft. The candidate is expected to reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out time of the assigned home base in Chicago, IL.
Position Summary
The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. This position is responsible for assisting in preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Total Time: 2500 hours
- Total PIC: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Essential Functions
The Second in Command's responsibilities include:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Maintaining consistent communication with the company regarding standby assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and completing pre- and post-flight documentation.
- Maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and required applications.
- Ensuring the currency of navigation charts, publications, and company manuals.
- Holding and maintaining a current First Class medical certificate.
- Demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills in all operational scenarios.
- Upholding Jet Linx's core values in all interactions and professional conduct.
Other Requirements
- Recent initial or recurrent training in type (within the last 24 months) is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Possession of a current passport.
- Holding or having the ability to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Possession of a First Class Medical certificate.
- Holding an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Unrestricted ability to travel to all countries within the European Union, Canada, and the Caribbean.
- Ability to authorize and pass a FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
- Work is primarily performed in and around aircraft and airport terminals.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Compensation and Benefits
Jet Linx offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The starting base annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $149,000. The actual base salary is determined based on geographic location, aircraft size/crew position, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 6% company match, paid time off, and company-paid life and short-term disability coverage.
