Lead Pilot in Command – Challenger 300 – Jacksonville, FL
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Challenger 300 based at Jacksonville International Airport (KJAC). This position is part of a four-pilot operation within a Part 135 operation, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will exemplify EJM's core principles of safety, service, and integrity.
Purpose of the Position:
The Lead PIC will serve as a peer leader for the designated flight department, fostering effective crew resource management (CRM), providing exceptional client service, and managing essential administrative duties. This role actively participates in the flight schedule while upholding all PIC responsibilities and expectations.
Responsibilities:
Flight Department Leadership & Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, proactively addressing concerns and identifying opportunities for service enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance personnel to ensure adherence to all maintenance requirements (scheduled and unscheduled), and timely completion of administrative tasks (database updates, audits, checklists).
- Manage flight department administrative tasks, including but not limited to: supply management (office and aircraft), subscriptions, and crew scheduling, including communication with crew members.
- Support flight department personnel, fostering a collaborative environment and motivating team members to achieve flight department goals while upholding the EJM brand. Report any concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
Safe Operation of Flight:
- Ensure all crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments for each assignment.
- Utilize Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead pre-flight briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain effective coordination with company personnel. Serve as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Perform all pre-flight aircraft inspections, verifying maintenance status and mission capability. Document any discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Oversee all aircraft ground servicing requirements (fueling, oil, oxygen) ensuring compliance with SOPs.
- Conduct comprehensive passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations, providing exceptional customer service and accommodating any special passenger needs.
- Employ CRM and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all phases of operation.
Exceptional Service Delivery:
- Consistently deliver high-quality service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively identifying and resolving service deviations.
- Collaborate with crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent and superior service experience, resolving conflicts and challenges effectively.
Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintain current certifications and training in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Adhere to the company Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through appropriate channels.
- Ensure all crew members maintain required qualifications and comply with company policies, implementing necessary audits.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type Rating in the applicable fleet.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
