Reporting To: Chief Flying Instructor

An exceptional opportunity exists for a dedicated Flight Instructor to join a dynamic aviation team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of aviation by providing comprehensive flight and ground school instruction to students across various training levels. The instructor will impart knowledge and skills on C152, C172, and PA-28 aircraft, fostering the expertise required for students to achieve their pilot licenses and ratings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight training on company C152, C172, and P28A aircraft, adhering to the Tatenhill Aviation Flying Order Book for UK PPL(A), IMC/Instrument Rating (IR)(R), and Night Rating.
  • Guide and train students through essential flight manoeuvres, skills, and competencies required for relevant ratings.
  • Provide engaging ground school instruction, covering theoretical aviation knowledge to prepare students for examinations and practical flight training.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and meticulously record student progress, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all training documentation.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance by operating aircraft in strict accordance with the Flying Order Book and all applicable aviation legislation.
  • Actively promote and cultivate a robust safety culture among students, staff, and all airfield users at Tatenhill Airfield.

Requirements and Skills

  • Possession of a valid FI(A) or CRI(A) rating.
  • A valid CPL(A), or a PPL(A) with a minimum of 200 total flight hours, including at least 150 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • A valid SEP (Land) rating.
  • A current medical certificate of the appropriate class.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and exceptional instructional capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment, operating under the guidance of the Chief Flying Instructor (CFI).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in flight planning and navigation techniques.
