Leading Edge Aviation Seeks Highly Qualified Aviation Instructor (MCCI, TRE, TRI)

Leading Edge Aviation invites applications for a crucial instructional and examining role within its prestigious training organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced flight training and ensuring adherence to the highest regulatory and professional standards required for future airline pilots. The organization is seeking an experienced, dedicated professional to enhance its commitment to instructional excellence.

Minimum Essential Qualifications and Experience

The applicant must meet the following mandatory criteria to be considered for this advanced instructional position:

Licensing and Technical Requirements:

  • Type Rating: A current Type Rating is required.
  • License Holder: Must hold a current UK CAA issued license.
  • Required Licenses: Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL), Type Rating Examiner (TRE), and Type Rating Instructor (TRI) qualifications are mandatory.
  • Medical Certification: Must possess a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • English Proficiency: Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4.

Instructional Experience:

  • The candidate must be a current UK CAA qualified Multi-Crew Co-operation Instructor (MCCI).
  • A minimum of two years of specific experience in the type rating is required.
  • Demonstrable, proven experience as an MCCI delivering Airline Pilot Standards (APS) MCC courses is essential, or previous substantial experience as an established flight instructor is required.

Highly Desirable Attributes

Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating the following additional qualifications:

  • Dual UK/EASA MCCI qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI) or Simulator Flight Examiner (SFE) qualifications are advantageous.
  • Candidates demonstrating recency—specifically two years of relevant operational experience within the last five years—are preferred, ensuring current knowledge of modern Airline Operations.

Professional and Interpersonal Attributes

The role demands an individual who operates with the highest personal and professional standards. The successful candidate must demonstrate:

  • A profound commitment to ensuring excellence in all aspects of work delivery.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and on one's own initiative when necessary.
  • Strong report writing and superior IT skills, including a robust working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • A highly flexible approach, with the ability to adhere to and work shifts as per the established operational rota.
