JetPro Pilots is seeking a highly experienced Director of Operations (DO) to join a well-established Part 135 flight department located in Northern California. This is a significant opportunity for a qualified Pilot in Command with proven leadership skills to assume a pivotal role within a company deeply committed to safety, operational structure, and long-term stability. Responsibilities
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all aviation activities in strict accordance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Directing company aviation operations and signing all matters associated with the air carrier certificate.
- Exercising operational control over company aircraft and personnel, holding primary responsibility for flights and monitoring others exercising operational control.
- Managing all pilots employed by the client, enforcing policies and procedures through retraining or disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping procedures compliant with 14 CFR Part 91, Part 135, and DOT requirements.
- Supervising the selection, operation, crew assignment, and scheduling of aircraft to ensure maximum safety and efficiency.
- Collaborating with the Director of Safety to develop and implement safety programs, practices, training programs, and standards for flight operations.
- Ensuring the effective implementation and functionality of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Maintaining the General Operations Manual (GOM) to ensure it remains current and up-to-date.
- Approving the selection, training, and retention of operations personnel.
- Ensuring full compliance with the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA).
- Attending and scheduling operations personnel for seminars, conventions, and training to stay current with industry improvements, new methods, and best practices.
- Requisitioning materials and approving invoices for materials and services within the assigned base, while also preparing and maintaining records and reports for flight operations functions and personnel.
- Evaluating and recommending new or replacement equipment to enhance operations.
- Supervising the distribution and posting of all relevant information or memoranda concerning changes to client policies, route information, NAVAIDs, NOTAMs, etc.
- Collaborating with the Chief Pilot and assigned Captains to restrict or suspend operations when aware of hazardous conditions potentially affecting a flight.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will meet the following minimum criteria:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings.
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- Type Rated: CE-560 (required).
- Total Flight Time: 3000 Hours.
- Multi-Engine Time: 1000 Hours.
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Turbine Time: 1000 Hours.
- Time in Type (CE-560): 250 Hours.
- Experience with Collins ProLine 21 avionics.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Must reside within a two-hour radius of the base location.
- Must meet FAA 14 CFR 119.71 qualifications for Director of Operations.
Schedule
- Available for variable scheduling.
- Average of 12 flying days per month.
- 8 guaranteed hard days off per month plus 2 weeks of annual vacation.
- Anticipated annual flight time averaging 400-500 hours.
- Majority of flights scheduled at least 30 days in advance.
