Position Summary
The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flight operations. With a primary focus on safety, security, and quality, the Pilot in Command exercises ultimate authority over all flight aspects. The ideal candidate possesses a Gulfstream 600 type rating and prior experience with Dassault Falcon aircraft, as they will be responsible for piloting both the Gulfstream 600 and Falcon 2000.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing Time
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land Time
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command Time
- 1,500 hours Turbojet Time
- 1,500 hours Turbine Time
- 100 hours Night Time
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument Time
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions
- Valid driver's license
Main Responsibilities
- Safe operation of the aircraft, including determining departure times and routes, and canceling flights based on weather or other conditions
- Ensuring compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Implementing necessary changes en route to maintain safe and compliant flight operations
- Conducting all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards
- Completing all trip paperwork accurately and in accordance with current procedures
- Ensuring a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the Second in Command
- Recording aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly reporting them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee
- Determining the flight crew's fitness for duty, both mentally and physically
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage if necessary
- Obtaining current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized sources
- Filing or directing the filing of flight plans with FAA or ICAO ATC facilities
- Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended landing and alternate airports
- Performing the functions of the In-TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the applicable security program
- Conducting or assigning passenger safety briefings
- Mentoring the Second in Command to prepare them for Pilot in Command responsibilities
- Completing and submitting leg manifests and end-of-day (EOD) reports to operations control
- Actively participating in open sharing of safety information and reporting hazards and concerns
- Reporting hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety
- Delegating duties while maintaining ultimate responsibility
- Performing other duties as required
- Representing Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network
