Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking a professional Lead Captain for the Gulfstream 550 based in Teterboro, New Jersey. The Lead Captain serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), bearing ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of assigned flights. This role requires a leader dedicated to mentorship, safety, security, and the delivery of high-quality service, embodying Jet Aviation’s core values of trust, honesty, alignment, and transparency.
Key Responsibilities

Lead flight operations, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, flight plan filing, and weather/route analysis.

Mentor and guide crew members, fostering professional development, performance management, and effective scheduling.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems to ensure precision and adaptability in diverse operating conditions.

Champion a culture of safety and compliance, conducting passenger briefings and coordinating aircraft maintenance discrepancies.

Manage administrative duties, including trip documentation and aircraft manual maintenance.

Represent the Jet Aviation brand with professional integrity during all internal and external interactions.
Required Qualifications

Certifications:
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and FAA First Class Medical.

Experience:
Minimum of five years of aviation experience with 3,500 hours total fixed-wing time. This must include:

1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)

1,500 hours Multi-Engine
-
500 hours Turbo-Jet
-
500 hours Turbine
-
100 hours Night
-
75 hours Simulated Instrument

Education:
High school diploma.

Compliance:
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Readiness:
Ability to work a variable schedule and travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

Tasks require regular standing, walking, sitting, and occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching.

Requirement to maintain sharp vision across various ranges and depths.

Operations occur in diverse environments, including hangars, maintenance areas, and upscale customer spaces, involving potential exposure to noise, vibrations, fuel fumes, and varying weather/temperature conditions.
