Flight Attendant
Horizon Air is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Flight Attendant to represent Alaska Airlines and create exceptional inflight experiences for passengers. As the face of Horizon Air, the Flight Attendant embodies the role of an authentic and gracious host, ensuring passenger safety and comfort while delivering outstanding customer service. This union-represented position requires a comprehensive understanding of inflight service duties and safety procedures, as well as a commitment to maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor with both guests and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations and that all safety equipment on aircraft is in working order.
- Greeting passengers, assisting with seating assignments, carry-on baggage stowage, and security procedures.
- Explaining and demonstrating the use of safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Preparing and serving meals and beverages, including alcohol.
- Effectively marketing onboard products and processing sales using a mobile device.
- Calmly resolving passenger situations during flight, including medical emergencies.
- Answering passenger questions regarding flight operations and destination information.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of customer or community service experience.
- Uncompromising dedication to safety.
- Body size must not exceed specific aircraft dimensions (e.g., jump seat, harness without modification, cabin aisle, and emergency exits).
- Ability to meet the company's grooming, uniform, and appearance standards.
- Ability to demonstrate the physical ability to perform the duties of a flight attendant.
- Ability to relocate to any of our flight attendant bases: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Medford, OR; Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; Anchorage, AK; Everett, WA. Flight attendant base assignments are determined during training based on business needs and are not guaranteed.
- Willingness to serve alcohol.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
- Adaptability to perform a variety of duties and perform effectively under stress.
- Ability to attend 4 weeks of paid training in Portland, OR.
- Possession of a current passport with unrestricted access in and out of the United States (and any appropriate travel documentation for non-U.S. passports). Must be able to fly unrestricted in and out of Canada.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Additional Information:
- Training will be held in Portland, OR, and consists of four (4) weeks of paid training.
- Employees must adhere to the company's tattoo policy, which restricts visible tattoos on the face, front of neck, or chest.
- Employees will be required to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority. Failure to qualify for or maintain a SIDA badge will result in termination.
- Starting rate: USD $0.00/Hr. First year step rate: $20.66 (per contract).
