Job Summary

General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, seeks a qualified UAV Instructor/Operator Pilot for its Aero Services division. GA-SI is a leading provider of military and commercial engineering services, specializing in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Instructor Operator for General Atomics PBL US Army field support, providing aircrew training, evaluations, and sustained flight operations support to customer organizational units.
  • Coordinate and participate in ground and flight operations, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management, and safety initiatives.
  • Remotely pilot vehicles during flight tests and demonstration support to assess compliance with specifications and operational suitability through prescribed tests and maneuvers.
  • Ensure adherence to service guidance, company policies and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
  • Develop and verify procedures for new aircraft features.
  • Participate in the development of operational and safety procedures, as well as training syllabus courseware.
  • Uphold all applicable laws, regulations, and other business obligations.
  • Operate in a safe manner consistent with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Education/formal training equivalent to a four-year technical degree or trade school equivalency, with five or more years of experience in UAV operation or aviation. Equivalent professional or military experience in UAV or aviation may substitute for education.
  • Familiarity with Army forms, records, and publications, along with Contractor Flight and Ground Operations procedures and records (DCMA 8210).
  • Demonstrated understanding of UAV and FAA principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Minimum of six hundred (600) hours in a UGCS/OSGCS, including two hundred (200) hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) with UAV instructor or multiple UAV aircraft qualification.
  • Graduate of a DA or DES IO Course for MQ-1C Gray Eagle.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for effective interaction with employees at all levels, and military, civilian customers, contractors, and aircrew.
  • Detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications.
  • Ability to maintain a FAA Class II flight physical.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
