Type Rating Instructor / Examiner (m/f/diverse)

Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT), one of Europe’s leading Approved Training Organizations (ATO), conducts over 20,000 hours of simulator flight training annually for pilots worldwide. To support our expanding team in Vienna, we are seeking qualified Type Rating Instructors and Examiners.

Position Details

  • Location: Vienna
  • Work Schedule: Full-time or part-time
  • Entry Level: Direct entry
  • Contract Duration: 18 months
  • Department: Training / Education and Professional Development

Target Aircraft Types

A320, A220 / BD500, EMB E1/E2, A330/A350, Q400.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting theoretical and practical training in accordance with established training standards.
  • Preparing instructional materials to meet specific customer training requirements.
  • Developing and enhancing training documentation and curriculum.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must possess extensive experience as an instructor within flight operations or training organizations, alongside the following qualifications:

  • EASA ATPL license.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Valid MPA Type Rating with a current TRI rating on at least one of the listed aircraft types, or recognized examiner status.
  • For A330/A350 roles: Valid MPA Type Rating with a current TRI rating on at least one additional Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, or Embraer type; examiners must hold valid recognition for examiner activities.
  • ICAO English Level 4 minimum.
  • German language proficiency: Native speaker, Level C1, or ICAO Level 5 “Extended”.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of instructor experience in FSTD or aircraft as an SFI/TRI.
  • Proven experience in the airline training sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong social and didactic competence, team-oriented mindset, and customer focus.
  • Willingness to travel and capacity for training on additional aircraft types.
