This position offers a unique opportunity to instruct in high-performance piston and jet aircraft, and advanced simulators, focusing on all-attitude, all-envelope maneuvering flight. Position Summary:

APS is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) Instructor Pilot. The primary focus will be delivering world-class UPRT curriculum, both ground and flight instruction, in high-performance, aerobatic-capable airplanes such as the Extra 300L. Opportunities exist to advance to instructing in advanced jet aircraft like the S211 SIAI-Marchetti and advanced simulators. The instructor will train a diverse clientele, including owner/operator, corporate, business, executive, government, military, and commercial pilots. Flight operations are based in Mesa, Arizona (KIWA).

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver advanced UPRT ground school instruction.
Provide in-flight UPRT instruction in high-performance aerobatic aircraft, focusing on upset recovery and stall/spin training, incorporating associated all-attitude aerobatic instruction.
Maintain expertise in APS UPRT curriculum and instructional methodologies.
Potentially qualify to teach APS UPRT programs in advanced simulators following in-aircraft instructor seasoning.

Required Expertise:

Minimum 1500 hours of total flight time.
Substantial all-attitude, all-envelope flight experience (500+ flight hours preferred). Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to: military flight instruction, tactical or fighter aircraft experience, aerobatics (competition/airshow), or test pilot school graduation with spin testing experience.
Hold a valid FAA Commercial Single-Engine Land (SEL) Pilot’s License.
Hold a valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor Rating (CFI).

Experience Advantages in the Selection Process:

Two years of commercial and/or military flight experience in multi-engine turboprop and/or turbofan/turbojet aircraft is preferred.
Two years of experience as an FAA CFI and/or military flight instructor (200+ instructional hours preferred). Note: This instructional experience does not require specific expertise in teaching all-attitude maneuvering or aerobatics.
Total flight time exceeding 2000 hours.
One or more aircraft type ratings.
