Position Summary
The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering strictly to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles. This role ensures clients receive high-quality training that meets regulatory standards and individual objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts ground and simulator training sessions for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Develops and prepares relevant training materials to support effective instruction tailored to client needs and applicable curriculum requirements.
- Evaluates and measures trainee progress throughout the course, providing recommendations for qualification or identifying the need for additional training.
- Maintains accurate and complete training records for each client, documenting their progress and aiding them in achieving their requested training objectives.
- Identifies potential client training issues proactively and seeks appropriate assistance before commencing training delivery.
- Ensures personal Instructor qualifications are current and maintained in full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
Candidates are required to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- Alternatively, if an ATP certificate is not held, candidates must meet the requirements specified under 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64, without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Must hold a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-In-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The duties of this position frequently require the employee to use hands for fine manipulation, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The role may involve standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling.
Specific physical requirements include:
- Ability to reach, exert pressure on, and manipulate rudder or anti-torque controls with both feet.
- Ability to reach and manipulate numerous controls within the simulator device from the instructor station.
- Ability to safely enter and exit the simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Ability to move between the instructor station, screen, and podium while conducting classroom instruction.
- Ability to safely exit a malfunctioning simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
- Specific vision abilities required encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure may include high or precarious locations, outside weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
