Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses, ensuring adherence to the highest standards.
  • Develops and meticulously prepares training materials that effectively support training delivery, ensuring all content meets specific client needs and aligns with the applicable curriculum.
  • Evaluates and accurately measures trainee progress, providing informed recommendations for qualification or additional training as necessary to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
  • Completes precise and thorough training records for each client, a critical component in supporting their success in achieving requested objectives.
  • Proactively identifies potential client training issues and seeks appropriate assistance or resolution prior to the execution of training, maintaining a seamless instructional flow.
  • Maintains all requisite Instructor qualifications in strict accordance with current regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional compliance.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability and willingness to participate in FlightSafety’s Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol testing program are mandatory.
  • Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
  • For candidates without an ATP, strict compliance with the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation is essential.
  • A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
  • Preferred: Prior experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
  • Preferred: A total flight time of 2,500 hours or more.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency in common aviation regulations and their practical application.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage classroom environments and deliver engaging, impactful instruction.
  • Proficient first-level facilitation skills, enabling effective group leadership and discussion.
  • Exceptional first-level customer service skills, fostering positive client relationships.
  • A receptive attitude towards coaching and feedback, demonstrating a strong commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and communicate effectively through speech and hearing. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and the ability to taste or smell.

Candidates must possess the physical range of body motion necessary to perform the following tasks:

  • Reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque pedals with both feet.
  • Reach and manipulate numerous controls within the simulator device from the Instructor’s chair.
  • Enter and exit the simulator device safely via the provided ramp.
  • Move efficiently between the instructor station, projection screen, and podium while instructing in a classroom setting.
  • Safely exit a malfunctioning simulator, even when the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts.
  • Occasionally, the employee may work in high, precarious places, in outside weather conditions, and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
