Flight Instructor - Rotorcraft

FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Rotorcraft Flight Instructor. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Responsibilities:

The Flight Instructor provides instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

• This position requires previous rotorcraft experience.
• NVG Experience is preferred.
• Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
• Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
• In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements outlined in:
  • 14 CFR part 61.153
  • 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
• A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is mandatory.
• FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience is preferred.
• A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bilingualism is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices is essential.
• A comprehensive understanding of common aviation regulations is required.
• The candidate must possess the ability to effectively manage classes and teach.
• First-level facilitation and customer service skills are necessary.
• The individual must be coachable and receptive to feedback to support professional development.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role requires regular use of hands for manipulating controls and communication. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. The role also requires the physical range of body motion to perform the following: reach, exert pressure, and manipulate the rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet; reach and manipulate numerous controls within the Simulator device from the Instructor’s chair; enter and exit from the Simulator device via the provided ramp; move between the Instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom; and exit from a malfunctioning Simulator while the device is in a severely pitched attitude. Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, are required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, and potential exposure to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
