Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International
FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Flight Instructor to join its team. As a Flight Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to strict aviation regulations and FlightSafety's renowned training principles.
Purpose of the Position
The Flight Instructor will provide comprehensive training to pilots, ensuring they meet the highest standards of competency and safety. This role demands a commitment to excellence in instruction, a deep understanding of aviation regulations, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective ground and simulator flight training to clients pursuing core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and refine training materials to cater to the specific needs of each client, ensuring adherence to the established curriculum.
- Evaluate trainee progress meticulously, providing constructive feedback and recommending appropriate qualifications or further training as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client, fostering their success in achieving desired objectives.
- Proactively identify any potential training issues and seek guidance from supervisors before implementation.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism by maintaining current Instructor qualifications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- If an ATP is not held, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- 14 CFR part 61.153
- 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Preferred: FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training classes and deliver engaging instruction.
- Demonstrated first-level facilitation skills.
- Strong first-level customer service skills.
- Willingness to be coached and receive constructive feedback to foster professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The Flight Instructor will be required to perform a variety of physical tasks, including:
- Frequent use of hands to manipulate controls and tools.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Regular standing, walking, sitting, and climbing.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Operating within a dynamic environment that may include moving mechanical parts and exposure to various weather conditions, fumes, and potential hazards.
This position requires excellent vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
