Flight Instructor

FlightSafety International, a global leader in professional aviation training and simulator technology, seeks a dedicated Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional instruction. The successful candidate will provide ground and simulator training in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pilot training for core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
  • Develop and prepare training materials aligned with the curriculum and client needs.
  • Evaluate trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate training records for each client to support their objectives.
  • Identify and address client training issues proactively.
  • Maintain instructor qualifications according to regulatory requirements.

Minimum Experience:

  • Must participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
  • Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
  • If an ATP is not held, candidates must meet the requirements outlined in:
    • 14 CFR part 61.153
    • 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
  • A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
  • Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of aviation safety standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
  • Effective class management and teaching abilities.
  • Possesses first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates coachability and receptiveness to feedback.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The role requires physical dexterity including: manipulation of controls with hands and feet, reaching, climbing, and the ability to move freely within classroom and simulator environments. The instructor must also possess visual acuity for near, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is occasionally needed. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and may include high places, varying weather conditions, fumes, and occasional exposure to chemicals or extreme temperatures.
