Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International

Purpose of the Position:
The Flight Instructor is responsible for providing superior ground and simulator flight training, adhering strictly to all applicable aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training methodologies. This role demands a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring trainee success.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive ground and simulator training to clients enrolled in core, specialized, or advanced aviation courses.
- Develop and prepare high-quality training materials tailored to specific client needs and aligned with the relevant curriculum.
- Evaluate trainee progress objectively, providing constructive feedback and recommending appropriate qualification or further training as needed.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate training records for each client, documenting their progress and achievements.
- Proactively identify potential training challenges and seek support before they impact instruction.
- Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and maintain all necessary instructor certifications and qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- If an ATP certificate is not held, the candidate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating is required.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 operations, or military aviation training.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training sessions and deliver engaging instruction.
- Demonstrated first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and actively participate in professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including but not limited to:
- Reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder controls and anti-torque pedals.
- Operating numerous controls within the simulator from the instructor's station.
- Safely entering and exiting the simulator via the provided ramp.
- Moving freely between the instructor station, screen, and podium during classroom instruction.
- Safely exiting the simulator in the event of a malfunction, even under adverse conditions (e.g., severe pitch).
- Maintaining excellent visual acuity (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus).
- Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation, and vibration.
