Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International

Purpose of the Position:
The Flight Instructor will provide superior ground and simulator-based flight instruction, adhering strictly to all applicable aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive pilot training in ground school and simulator environments, encompassing core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare high-quality training materials tailored to client needs and aligned with the relevant curriculum.
- Evaluate trainee progress rigorously, providing constructive feedback and recommending appropriate qualification or further training as needed.
- Maintain meticulously accurate training records for each client, documenting their progress towards established objectives.
- Proactively identify and address potential training challenges, seeking assistance when necessary.
- Maintain all required Instructor qualifications in accordance with relevant regulatory standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be eligible to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- If an ATP certificate is not held, the candidate must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 operations, or military flight training.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training classes and deliver engaging instruction.
- Excellent facilitation skills.

- Willingness to receive constructive feedback and actively participate in professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The position requires a wide range of physical motion, including reaching, manipulating controls (rudder pedals, simulator controls), entering and exiting simulators, moving between instructor stations, and potentially responding to simulator malfunctions in various positions. The candidate must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, varying weather conditions, and potential hazards such as fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical risks, and vibrations. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
