Pilot-in-Command
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a subsidiary of NetJets and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a dedicated and experienced Pilot-in-Command. This is a home-based Pilot-in-Command position supporting multiple EJM Part 91 and Part 135 accounts. The Pilot-in-Command is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, reporting directly to the Chief Pilot or designee. The pilot must be thoroughly knowledgeable of, and compliant with, the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), Operations Specifications, Letters of Authorization (LOAs), FAA Regulations, Aircraft Flight and Equipment manuals, and all other pertinent flight information. The Pilot-in-Command holds final authority regarding aircraft operation and, in the event of an emergency involving safety of persons or property, may deviate from 14 CFR 91 and 14 CFR 135 only to the extent required to address the emergency.
Schedule:
The pilot will select five days off per month and will be scheduled for 16 flying days each month. Compensation will be provided for any additional days worked. Trip profiles may vary in day length and include both domestic and international destinations.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Receives initial briefing from the Flight Center, ensuring assigned crewmembers meet all regulatory and rest requirements. Briefing includes show time/departure, fixed-based operators, flight distance/estimated flight time/estimated fuel burn, passenger information, catering, transportation, special requests, noise abatement and curfew procedures, security issues, and airport limitations.
- Briefs and assigns duties to the Second-in-Command, while retaining responsibility for task completion; includes information regarding weather, flight plan route, flight delays, aircraft performance, obstacle clearance, security issues, and passenger considerations.
- Prepares or supervises preparation of flight plan, considering factors such as weather, terrain, aircraft weight, aircraft performance, range, physiological considerations, airport facilities, and navigational resources.
- Reviews aircraft maintenance records to ensure airworthiness and equipment inspections are current, the deferral list complies with MEL requirements, and the aircraft is capable of completing the proposed flight.
- Advises maintenance of any aircraft or systems irregularities in accordance with company maintenance reporting procedures.
- Supervises or conducts the preflight inspection of the aircraft for structural, mechanical, and electrical soundness. Ensures presence of required documentation and equipment, including Airworthiness Certificate, Aircraft Registration, Radio Station Permit, Weight and Balance, Aircraft Flight Manual, MEL, Checklists, General Operations Manual, Company forms, TOLD cards, Passenger Briefing Cards, Flashlights and batteries, Life vests, rafts, safety equipment, Medical First Aid Equipment, and Fire Extinguishers.
- Ensures all ground servicing is monitored by a crew member and that only company personnel have aircraft access, except in the presence of a crew member.
- Evaluates and coordinates the handling of any special needs of passengers.
- Assigns a crewmember or passenger prior to takeoff to assist a handicapped person during emergency evacuation.
- Inspects all passenger identification prior to boarding, ensuring compliance with all security procedures.
- Ensures passenger briefing meets 14 CFR 135.117 for a 135 flight and 14 CFR 91.519 for a 91 flight.
- Obtains and thoroughly reviews company flight manifests (briefing sheets) prior to flight, confirming currency with the Flight Center.
- Completes and forwards an Anomaly Report when anything unusual occurs, including abnormalities with the aircraft, ground transportation, catering, or passengers.
- Maintains and provides the Flight Operations Training Department with a copy of his/her First Class Medical Certificate by the twentieth (20th) of the month.
- Responsible for assuring that the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any safety, security or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.

- Valid Medical certificate
- FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type (may be required).
- Upholds a service standard in a strict and changing regulatory environment.

- Meets the standards and regulations required to perform the duties of a PIC, including FAA and other government requirements for operating an aircraft in the 91/135 environment.
