Airbus A220 Direct Entry Captain
Breeze Airways is seeking experienced Airbus A220 Direct Entry Captains to join its team. This role is integral to upholding Breeze Airways' mission to make travel simple, affordable, and convenient by enhancing the guest experience through technology, ingenuity, and kindness. Pilots are responsible for safe and timely flight operations, acting as leaders who prioritize the well-being of team members and guests, with a continuous pursuit of excellence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and timely completion of flight operations in accordance with Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Operate assigned flights after determining aircraft airworthiness and reviewing all relevant factors, including weather, field conditions, and navigational aids.
- Maintain responsibility for aircraft operation during the designated duty period unless relieved by Company authority, operating in compliance with applicable Company policies and FARs.
- Supervise and oversee the enroute performance of other crewmembers assigned to their aircraft.
- Maintain a high degree of proficiency and thorough knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems applicable to the aircraft flown.
- Ensure the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft through appropriate pre- and post-flight inspections, in accordance with Company policy and FARs.
- Familiarize themselves with existing and forecast departure, arrival, and alternate station weather prior to each flight.
- Ensure flights are planned and fueled properly for safe conduct in accordance with current policies and regulations.
- Assist with and ensure proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points where other company personnel are unavailable.
- Notify crew and passengers promptly of turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or other operational factors affecting the flight.
- Review flight load manifests and verify passenger counts prior to each departure.
- Timely advise the dispatcher of any situation that could affect the flight schedule, facilitating necessary diversions, cancellations, rerouting, or rescheduling.
- Observe the Rules of Conduct for all employees as outlined in the Company Team Member Playbook and Pilot Playbook.
- Assess risk and utilize appropriate resources to maintain risk at an acceptable level during all phases of ground and flight operations.
- Perform other flight officer duties as assigned by the Company.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 23 years old at the time of hire.
- FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with an airplane multi-engine class rating.
- A minimum of 3,000 hours of fixed-wing flight time.
- 2,000+ hours of total time in large, Group II transport category, fixed-wing aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight).
- 500+ hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time in large, Group II transport category aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight). PIC is defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record, not solely the manipulator of the controls.
- 500+ hours of Part 121 PIC time within the last three years.
- Actively flying two of the past five years.
- Must maintain Pilot training history in accordance with the Pilot Record Database (PRD).
- Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
- Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test.
- Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
