Breeze Airways seeks experienced and "Seriously Nice" Airbus A220 Direct Entry Captains to join our growing team. As a pilot with Breeze Airways, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and timely flight operations in strict accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. Pilots are expected to serve as leaders, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our Team Members and Guests while continuously pursuing operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe and timely completion of flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Operate assigned flights after determining aircraft airworthiness and reviewing all relevant factors, including weather, field conditions, and navigational aids.
  • Maintain operational responsibility for the aircraft during the designated duty period, adhering to applicable Company policies and FARs.
  • Supervise and manage the enroute performance of other crewmembers assigned to the aircraft.
  • Maintain a high degree of proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of flight operations, procedures, and systems applicable to the aircraft flown.
  • Complete appropriate pre- and post-flight inspections to ensure the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft in accordance with Company policy and FARs.
  • Familiarize yourself with existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and alternate stations prior to each flight.
  • Ensure flights are properly planned and fueled for safe operation in accordance with current policies and regulations.
  • Assist with and ensure the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points where other company personnel are unavailable.
  • Promptly notify crew and passengers of turbulence, adverse weather, or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
  • Review flight manifests and verify passenger counts prior to each departure.
  • Timely notification to the dispatcher of any situation that may affect the flight schedule.
  • Observe the Rules of Conduct as outlined in the Company Team Member Playbook and Pilot Playbook.
  • Assess risk and utilize appropriate resources to maintain risk at an acceptable level during all phases of ground and flight operations.
  • Perform other flight officer duties as assigned by the Company.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 23 years old at the time of hire.
  • FAA Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with an airplane multi-engine class rating.
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours of fixed-wing flight time.
  • 2,000+ hours of total time in large, Group II transport category, fixed-wing aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight).
  • 500+ hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time in large, Group II transport category aircraft (turbojet aircraft of more than 41,000 lbs. maximum takeoff weight). (PIC is defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record).
  • 500+ hours of Part 121 PIC time within the last three years.
  • Actively flying two of the past five years.
  • Must maintain Pilot training history in accordance with the Pilot Record Database (PRD).
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport.
  • Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States.
  • Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational achievement.
