Simulator Instructor - A220
CAE is seeking a qualified Simulator Instructor to join its Aviation Training Organization (ATO). This role is responsible for delivering high-quality simulator training and contributing to the continuous improvement of training programs. The position is on-call and fixed-term.
Responsibilities
- Conduct simulator training duties utilizing the ATO’s A220 Full-Flight Simulators (FSTDs).
- Perform additional training duties as directed by the Head of Training (HOT).
- Participate in projects assigned or authorized by the HOT.
- Deliver training in accordance with the Flight Simulation Instructor (FSI) job description.
- Adhere to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Propose revisions to SOPs as necessary.
- Assist in the development of courseware and training materials, including theoretical examinations, compliant with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations.
- Collaborate with the Simulator Technical department to ensure simulators meet required training standards.
- Monitor student progress and create action plans for students not meeting standards.
- Promote and support enhancements to the ATO's processes, documentation, courseware, and training materials.
- Participate in Progress, Academic, and Disciplinary Review Boards, providing recommendations for remedial or disciplinary actions.
- Conduct Full Flight Simulator (FFS) / Flight Training Device (FTD) training sessions alongside office duties when required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 1000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on a multi-crew jet transport aircraft.
- Possession of a valid Simulator Instructor Rating, or an equivalent rating or certification.
- Hold or have held an ICAO-recognized Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), or Multi-crew Pilot Licence (MPL) with a minimum ICAO English Level 5.
- Previous experience in airline or ATO training environments.
- Basic IT proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Type Rating Instructor (TRI), Type Rating Examiner (TRE), Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI), Flight Instructor (FI), or Designated Flight Examiner (DFE).
- Knowledge and experience with Advanced Qualification Program (AQP), Evidence-Based Training (EBT), Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), and Integrated Education Concepts (IEC) methodologies.
- Familiarity with civil aviation regulations pertaining to aviation training.
- Demonstrated motivation, discipline, and the ability to work independently and deliver results punctually, especially in remote work settings.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to foster strong internal and external relationships.
- Proven leadership experience and effectiveness in multicultural environments.
