Pilot-in-Command - Challenger 300/350/3500
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a subsidiary of NetJets and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, seeks a qualified Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to join its Crew Services team. This is a home-based position flying the Challenger 300, 350, and 3500 aircraft, providing support to multiple EJM Part 91 and Part 135 accounts.
Responsibilities:
The Pilot-in-Command reports directly to the Chief Pilot or their designee and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of each flight assignment. The PIC must demonstrate thorough knowledge of and compliance with the Company's General Operations Manual (GOM), Operations Specifications, Letters of Authorization (LOAs), FAA Regulations, Aircraft Flight and Equipment manuals, and all other information pertinent to each flight. As the final authority regarding aircraft operation, the Pilot-in-Command may deviate from 14 CFR 91 and 14 CFR 135 only to the extent required to meet an emergency involving the safety of persons or property.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receiving initial briefings from the Flight Center, including crewmember regulatory and rest requirements, show time/departure details, Fixed Based Operator (FBO) information, flight distance/estimated flight time/estimated fuel burn, passenger information, catering/transportation/special requests, noise abatement and curfew procedures, security issues, and airport limitations.
- Briefing and assigning duties to the Second-in-Command, while retaining overall responsibility for task completion. This briefing includes weather, flight plan route, flight delays, aircraft performance, obstacle clearance, security issues, and passenger considerations.
- Preparing or supervising the preparation of flight plans, considering factors such as weather, terrain, aircraft weight and performance, range, physiological considerations, airport facilities, and navigational resources.
- Reviewing aircraft maintenance records to ensure current airworthiness and equipment inspections, compliance of the deferral list with Minimum Equipment List (MEL) requirements, and the aircraft's ability to complete the proposed flight. Reporting any aircraft or systems irregularities according to company maintenance reporting procedures.
- Supervising or conducting the preflight inspection of the aircraft for structural, mechanical, and electrical soundness, verifying the presence and validity of required documentation and equipment. Ensuring ground servicing is monitored by a crew member and that only company personnel have unsupervised access to the aircraft.
- Evaluating and coordinating the handling of any special passenger needs, including assigning crewmembers to assist handicapped persons during emergency evacuation. Inspecting passenger identification prior to boarding and ensuring compliance with all security procedures. Ensuring passenger briefings meet 14 CFR 135.117 for Part 135 flights and 14 CFR 91.519 for Part 91 flights.
- Obtaining and thoroughly reviewing company flight manifests (briefing sheets) prior to flight and confirming their currency with the Flight Center.
- Completing and forwarding Anomaly Reports for any unusual occurrences, including abnormalities with the aircraft, ground transportation, catering, or passengers.
- Maintaining and providing a copy of his/her First Class Medical Certificate to the Flight Operations Training Department by the twentieth (20th) of each month.
- Assuring that the company’s goals for safety, security, and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any safety, security, or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations.
Schedule and Compensation:
- The pilot selects five days off each month.
- The pilot will be scheduled for 16 flying days each month, with additional compensation provided for any additional days worked.
- Trips can vary in day length and destinations, both domestic and international.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- 4-6 years of experience
- Must meet the standards and regulations required to perform the duties of a PIC which includes FAA and other government requirements for operating an aircraft in the 91/135 environment.
- May be required to obtain an FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type.
