Pilot in Command - Challenger 300

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a distinguished subsidiary of NetJets and a part of the Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a highly qualified and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to operate a Challenger 300 aircraft based in Santa Ana, CA. EJM, a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, is built on the core principles of safety, service, and integrity and is proud to be part of the world's largest private aviation infrastructure.

The successful candidate will assume final responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The position will involve flying on a Part 91 account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, with a flight schedule of less than 225 hours per year. Domestic travel within the USA is required; no international operations are involved. This is not a home-based position, requiring candidates to reside in or relocate to the Santa Ana area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all flight operations adhere strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance assessments.
  • Utilizes the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to conduct comprehensive crew briefings, mitigating potential operational risks.
  • Maintains constant communication with company personnel and acts as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator, as needed.
  • Completes pre-flight inspections, meticulously reviewing maintenance status to ensure aircraft readiness.
  • Monitors all ground servicing, including fueling, oil, and oxygen, adhering to established SOPs.
  • Provides comprehensive passenger briefings in accordance with regulations and policy, while delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring the comfort and needs of all passengers are met.
  • Employs Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles for clear communication with crew and support teams during all phases of operations.

  • Collaborates closely with crew members and internal teams to provide a consistent and first-class service experience for all passengers and owners.
  • Resolves any service disruptions efficiently and effectively.

Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains continuous compliance with all regulatory and company-mandated training and recency of experience.
  • Actively participates in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), reporting any safety and non-compliance matters.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is required.
  • Must be able to reside in or be willing to relocate to the Santa Ana area.
  • Possession of an FAA Type Rating in CL300 series is strongly preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform all essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum flight experience requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3,500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000.
