Responsibilities:
The Co-Pilot is responsible for:
- Ensuring the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, adhering to all relevant duties.
- Maintaining familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual to perform their duties professionally and safely.
- Assisting the Commander with administrative duties related to the flight.
- Supporting the Commander in upholding a high standard of crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance.
- Performing flight-related duties as allocated by the Commander, in accordance with Etihad's operating policies and procedures.
- Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining a continuous and independent check on its geographical position and ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance.
- Conducting the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander's instructions when the Commander is not at the controls, notifying the Commander of any changes upon their return.
- Providing advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to contribute to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Maintaining a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of Etihad Airways.
- Assuming command in the event of Commander incapacitation, if the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum of 1500 hours on multi-crew, glass cockpit (aircraft with a FMS coupled to APFDS) or high-performance military jet.
- 500 hours on Boeing 777/787 aircraft.
- A valid type rating for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining.
- Current and unrestricted ICAO ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License). Frozen ATPLs are not accepted unless held by a UAE citizen.
- Experience flying any Airbus FBW (Fly-By-Wire) aircraft within the last 12 months.
- Unrestricted, current Class 1 medical certificate.
- Maximum age limit of 50 years old.
- English Language Fluency (written and verbal) at Level 4 or higher.
- In case of hours accumulated on flights with inflight relief, 75% of the total hours shall be counted towards the required minimum.
Compensation and Benefits:
Etihad Airways offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including:
- Fixed monthly pay of AED 26,000.
- Flight duty allowance:
- 1-6 years of service: AED 40 per block hour.
- 7-10 years of service: AED 56 per block hour.
- Meal allowance during layovers:
- Middle East/GCC/Sub Continent: AED 12 per hour
- Asia/Far East: AED 15 per hour
- Africa/Australasia: AED 18 per hour
- Europe/Americas: AED 23 per hour
- Housing allowance up to AED 160,000 per year.
- Education allowance of AED 40,000 for primary and AED 55,000 for secondary education (up to 3 children).
