The Co-Pilot will be responsible for the safety and security of the aircraft, passengers, and cargo, within the scope of assigned duties. In the absence of the Commander, the Co-Pilot assumes these responsibilities. The Co-Pilot maintains thorough familiarity with Etihad’s Operations Manual, ensuring professional and safe execution of duties. They will assist the Commander with administrative tasks related to the flight, and support the maintenance of exemplary crew discipline, conduct, and personal appearance. The Co-Pilot executes flight-related duties as allocated by the Commander, in accordance with Etihad’s operating policies and procedures. They confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, independently monitoring its geographical position and ensuring safe terrain and weather clearance. The Co-Pilot conducts the flight in compliance with the current flight plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the Commander’s instructions when the Commander is not at the controls, promptly notifying the Commander of any changes upon their return. They provide proactive advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to enhance the safety and efficiency of the flight. Throughout their duties, the Co-Pilot maintains a high standard of personal discipline, conduct, and appearance, representing Etihad Airways professionally at all times. In the event of Commander incapacitation, the highest-ranking Co-Pilot assigned to the flight shall assume command.
