Gulfstream 550/650 Lead Captain

The successful candidate will operate Part 91 flights to exciting destinations, collaborating with an elite flight department.
Position Summary:
In addition to performing flight crew duties, the Lead Captain ensures effective communication between the client, Account Manager (ACM), Director of Maintenance (DOM), Director of Training, Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP), and Trip Support Specialists. This role ensures crew compliance with regulations, directives, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); assists in coordinating training events; reviews expense reports and invoices; and aids in managing crew member schedules. The Lead Captain fosters positive working relationships and promotes company culture within the flight department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) as designated.
- Ensure adherence to flight and maintenance schedules and other directives governing aircraft operation.
- Ensure crew compliance with flight and duty time limitations, adhering to Part 135 standards, or reasonably adhering to Part 135 standards if Part 91.
- Ensure the completion of pre-flight/post-flight duties and inspections in accordance with the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM).
- Coordinate with the DOM & ACM to ensure the aircraft is cleaned as necessary.
- Manage aircraft inventory to meet owner or user requirements.
- Monitor crew member performance and communicate observations to the Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP).
- Complete and approve crew expense reports in accordance with company policy.
- Review monthly billing summaries, reporting discrepancies to accounting and the ACM.
- Coordinate and manage crew member days off and vacation requests, relaying information to the ACP for scheduling and communicating with the ACM for owner approval when necessary.
- Liaison with the ACP and Director of Training.
- Conduct monthly reviews of currency and upcoming training/evaluation requirements.
- Conduct annual aircraft black book audits in collaboration with Flight Operations and the ACP.
- Ensure compliance with fleet requirements, including SOPs and required paperwork.
- Maintain familiarity with installed aircraft equipment and ensure compliance with all required regulatory operational authorizations and mandates.
Maintenance Related Responsibilities:
- Maintain awareness of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events.
- Assist in the resolution and communication of mechanical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events when required.
- Review monthly work order invoices.
- Coordinate and communicate maintenance-related items with the Maintenance Controller (or DOM if assigned) to ensure effective maintenance scheduling communication.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure all trip-related requests or changes from the aircraft owner are communicated to the Charter Department and Chief Pilot’s office.
- Assist in gathering operationally related data for special projects or reporting as requested.
- Mediate and facilitate positive working relationships within the Flight Department.
- Cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships with external stakeholders.
- Ensure the company culture is perpetuated among members of the Flight Department.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance efficiency in processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with the ACM in the management of the Aircraft Owner's overall experience.
- Update the Scheduling Specialist regarding aircraft schedule changes and other matters affecting scheduling.
- Coordinate with the ACM, DOM, Scheduling Specialist, and managed billing to conduct regular flight department meetings for activity management, budget oversight, problem identification, and information dissemination.
- Participate in the interview process and selection of all flight department personnel, in conjunction with the ACP/Chief Pilots.
- Communicate with the ACM for input and/or approval for all operational, personnel, and administrative issues.
- Recommend additional training for flight department members to the ACM & ACP.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lead Captain is required to safely operate Gulfstream 550/650 aircraft.
- Compliance with company Operational Specifications, General Operations Manual, and Flight Operations Manual.
- Meet account management requirements.
- First Class Medical Certificate required.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate required.
- Applicable FAA Part 91 and/or FAA Part 135 requirements for Gulfstream 550/650 operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maintenance experience with Gulfstream aircraft.
- Current with all flight requirements.
- International experience.
