KC-135 Aircraft Systems/Operational Procedures Instructor
CAE is seeking a qualified and experienced KC-135 Aircraft Systems/Operational Procedures Instructor to deliver instruction in aircraft, classroom, simulator, and practical environments. The instructor will also assist as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new type courses. Additional responsibilities may include courseware review and administrative duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, and scheduling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides KC-135 Pilot procedures instruction in aircraft, classroom, and simulator environments.
- Delivers training for Visual Threat Recognition Avoidance Training (VTRAT).
- Conducts Crew Resource Management (CRM) training.
- Assists as a Subject Matter Expert in the development and review of curriculum for new and existing courses.
- Provides suggestions to improve and update training policies and procedures.
- Promotes a positive attitude towards learning and embracing new technologies and tasks.
- Conducts ground training for other crewmembers, including diagnosis and remediation of student issues.
- Assists in project and development work as assigned.
- Performs administrative duties such as scheduling, record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, security, and maintenance of training programs and equipment.
- Maintains proficiency in operation of essential KC-135 Aircrew Training Devices.
- Acquires and maintains instrument, take-off, landing, and emergency procedure proficiency.
- Participates in periodic aircraft familiarization flights.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required.
- A minimum of eight years of total flying experience, including five years of military experience, with at least two years of KC-135 Pilot flight instructor and training management experience is required.
- Must have recent experience as a KC-135 Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot.
- Completion of a formal USAF Instructor training course is required.
- Strong facilitation and data analysis skills are required.
- Candidate must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
- Must acquire and maintain proficiency in emergency procedures.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work overtime and any shift or day of the week as required.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
- Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.
- Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and a ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery.
- Must be able to detect odors or hear noises to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.
Security Responsibilities:
Compliance with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. Incumbent shall execute the company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The role involves work in a regular office environment, communicating via computer, telephone, and fax. There will be times working in areas with a risk of electrical shock and from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure. At times, the candidate will be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Domestic and international travel may be required.
