Ascend Airways: Captain Opportunities – London Gatwick
Ascend Airways, a newly established UK AOC airline operating a fleet of Boeing 737 (NG and MAX) aircraft within the ACMI market, is seeking experienced Captains to join its inaugural operation based at London Gatwick Airport commencing early 2024. Position Overview:
Based at London Gatwick, this full-time position involves scheduled night stops and occasional extended periods away from base (up to two weeks) during the winter months only. Summer schedules will be busy, while winter rosters will be designed to allow for additional time off, providing a favorable work-life balance.
Essential Requirements:
- Unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Class 1 medical certificate without restrictions (excluding those related to spectacles/contact lenses).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Residence within a 90-minute commute of London Gatwick Airport.
- Boeing 737 type rating (current or expired within the last two years).
- Minimum 3,000 hours total flight time.
- Minimum 500 hours as a Boeing 737 Captain.
- UK ATPL and medical are preferred; EASA ATPL holders are welcome to apply, with licence conversion to a UK licence required prior to commencement (Ascend Airways will provide support).

Full-Time Captain (Standard Schedule):
- Annual Salary: £120,000 (revised April 2024)
- Flight Pay: £13 per flight hour
- Pension Contribution: 6% of salary
- Loss of Licence Insurance

- Minimum 10 days off per month; a maximum of 8 days leave permitted between June 1st and September 15th
- Annual leave entitlement: 42 days, including three "golden days" guaranteeing a day off at base.
Full-Time Captain (20/10 Commuting Option):
- Available to EU-based candidates.
- Accommodation and per diem provided during duty periods.
- Economy class flights provided on the first and last days of duty.
- Annual leave entitlement: 36 days, including two "golden days."
