Role Overview
The Captain is responsible for providing an exceptional flight experience for both business and leisure customers flying into the heart of London. Operating the Embraer 190 into London City Airport (LCY), pilots navigate one of the world's most demanding operational environments, serving a sophisticated customer base. Maintaining the highest professional standards is paramount.
Pilots are required to work flexibly within a close-knit team to support a dynamic seven-day-a-week operation. This includes flying business, charter, and leisure routes on varied rosters encompassing day trips, night stops, and tours. The role demands a high calibre pilot with the drive to deliver industry-defining standards of customer service in this challenging yet exciting environment.

Minimum Criteria to Apply
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Hold a current UK CAA Part-FCL ATPL (A) licence or possess the ability to convert to a UK licence via the CAA EASA transfer process route 5 or 6.
- Hold a current type rating with a minimum of 4000 total flying hours.
- Included within the 4000 hours, possess a minimum of 1500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a commercial jet/turbo prop multi-crew aircraft.
- The 1500 hours PIC must be on an aircraft with an MTOW (Maximum Take-Off Weight) of 20,000kg or greater and will not include any PICUS (Pilot in Command Under Supervision) hours.
- Hold ICAO English language proficiency level 6.
- Hold a valid ME (Multi-Engine) Instrument Rating.
- Hold a valid Class 1 Medical certificate (valid for 6 months after the potential date of joining).
Desirable Criteria
- An E-Jet type rating is desirable but not essential.
- Currently operating as a Captain is desirable.
Application Process
Supporting documentation is required as part of the application. Applicants must upload a copy of their Licence, Class 1 Medical certificate, and the last 3 pages of their logbook to the supporting files section before submitting the application.

Important Notes
- Candidates who were not successful at the initial screening, video interview, capacity testing, or assessment centre stages are eligible to reapply for the pilot recruitment campaign after 6 months from their most recent assessment date. This revised waiting period reflects updates to the assessment process.
- Candidates who were not successful at the SIM stage must wait 12 months before reapplying for the pilot recruitment campaign.
- Applicants may only apply to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) concurrently. If unsuccessful in one campaign, applicants are ineligible to reapply to any of the three airlines within the British Airways family until the specified re-apply period has elapsed.
