Essential Candidate Requirements for Non Type Rated Captains

Prospective Non Type Rated Captains are expected to meet the following stringent criteria:

• Possession of a valid UK-issued Pilot's Licence with a minimum English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 5. (Candidates holding EASA or alternative licences may gain and hold a UK licence concurrently; detailed guidance is available.)
• A current Class One Medical certificate with a minimum of 6 months validity remaining at the anticipated start date.
• A minimum total flying experience of 3,000 hours.
• At least 1,000 hours of factored command time accumulated on a medium to heavy commercial multi-crew, multi-engine Jet aircraft.
