BA Cityflyer is currently seeking experienced Captains to join the team during an exciting period of growth and development. As a Captain, the primary focus is the customer. Responsibilities include operating the Embraer 190 into London City Airport, navigating one of the world's most challenging operational environments while maintaining the highest professional standards. Pilots are expected to work flexibly within a dedicated team, managing a dynamic seven-day-a-week operation that encompasses business, charter, and leisure flights, including day trips, night stops, and tours.

Minimum Candidate Criteria

  • Current UK CAA Part-FCL licence ATPL (A) or the ability to convert to a UK licence via the CAA EASA transfer process.
  • A current type rating with a minimum of 4,000 total hours, including 1,500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of a commercial jet or turbo-prop multi-crew aircraft (MTOW 20,000kg or greater; PICUS hours are excluded).
  • ICAO English language proficiency Level 6.
  • Valid ME Instrument rating.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical (valid for at least 6 months post-joining).
  • E-Jet type rating and current experience as a Captain are desirable but not essential.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a copy of their licence, Class 1 Medical, and the last three pages of their logbook with their application. Please note that flight hours and ratings will be verified during the screening and assessment phases.

Recruitment Policies

  • Candidates unsuccessful at the initial screening, video interview, capacity testing, or assessment centre may reapply 6 months after their most recent assessment. Those unsuccessful at the simulator stage must wait 12 months.
  • Applications are limited to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) at any given time. If unsuccessful, the candidate must wait for the specified re-apply period to elapse before applying to any of the three airlines.
