BA CityFlyer seeks a Direct Entry Captain to join its operations based at London City Airport. The airline, operating a fleet of Embraer 190 aircraft, serves various destinations across Europe and the UK. About the Role

As a Captain at BA CityFlyer, the primary focus is on customer service, ensuring a premium flight experience for passengers travelling to and from London City Airport. The role involves operating business, charter, and leisure flights on a dynamic seven-day-a-week roster, which may include day trips, night stops, and tours. Pilots will work within a close-knit team, contributing to a unique operation that combines premium clientele with diverse European flying and the challenges of a distinctive airport environment. Requirements

  • Currently operating as a Captain is desirable.
  • A current UK CAA Part-FCL licence ATPL (A) or the ability to convert to a UK licence via CAA EASA transfer process route 5 or 6.
  • A current type rating with a minimum of 4000 total hours.
  • Of the total hours, a minimum of 1500 hours must be as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a commercial jet or turbo-prop multi-crew aircraft.
  • The 1500 hours PIC must be on an aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 20,000kg or greater, excluding any PICUS hours.
  • A current UK issued ATPL (A).
  • ICAO English language proficiency level 6.
  • A valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (ME Instrument rating).
  • A valid Class 1 Medical certificate, which must remain valid for at least 6 months after the date of joining.
  • An Embraer (E-Jet) type rating is desirable but not essential.

Candidates are required to submit a copy of their licence and the last three pages of their logbook as supporting files with their application. Hours and ratings will be verified during the screening and assessment stages.
