Skybus is actively recruiting experienced Captains to join its esteemed flight operations team. This exciting opportunity involves operating the versatile DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft, primarily based at Southampton Airport, with a focus on the vital Alderney Public Service Obligation (PSO) operation.

Position Overview

This is a full-time role, with flexibility for part-time arrangements to be discussed during the application process. Flight hours will be managed in accordance with our Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved Flight Time Limitations (FTL) scheme, ensuring operational efficiency and pilot well-being.

Operational Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating our DHC6 300 series fleet in a multi-crew environment. The primary duty station will be Southampton, supporting the Alderney PSO route. Occasional operations may also extend to other company bases, including routes serving Cornwall.

Job Requirements

Skybus invites applications from candidates who meet the essential criteria and can demonstrate relevant desirable experience.

Essential Criteria:

• Possession of a valid UK issued EASA Part-FCL-ATPL (full or frozen).
• A current UK issued Class 1 medical certificate with a minimum of three months validity.
• A valid instrument rating for a multi-engine aircraft, with at least three months remaining validity.
• Successful completion of a Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course.
• Successful completion of an Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) course.
• A minimum of 1500 total flight hours, with at least 500 hours of multi-engine flight time.
• Fluency in both spoken and written English.
• Legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
• Ability to provide employer references for the past five years to facilitate airside security pass issuance.

Desirable Experience:

• Current or previous DHC6 Twin Otter type rating.
• Demonstrated flight experience in turboprop aircraft.
• Previous flight experience in light multi-engine aircraft such as the King Air, Shorts Skyvan, Islander, or Trislander.
• Flight experience in tailwheel aircraft, gliding, or similar disciplines.
• Experience within regional airlines, smaller operational environments, island communities, freight operations, or aeromedical evacuation (medivac) services.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position, based on the UK mainland (Skybus) pay scale, commences at £57,575. This includes annual increments up to year eleven of service.
