Allegiant Air seeks dedicated Flight Attendants to deliver exceptional service to customers and fellow team members. This pivotal role ensures the security, safety, and comfort of passengers from pre-boarding to final destination. Flight Attendants serve as frontline representatives of Allegiant Air, contributing to the seamless operation of flights by accurately managing passenger manifests and onboard inventory. They also promote the sale of Allegiant products and services, adhering to all applicable government regulations from the FAA and TSA. Comprehensive training is provided to ensure all standards are met.

Minimum Qualifications:

A combination of education and experience will be considered. The applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986, and must successfully complete a criminal background check. A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of direct customer service experience. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and be capable of performing all necessary job functions. Successful completion of a 4 1/2 week training program in Las Vegas, including shared hotel accommodations with a classmate, is mandatory. Relocation expenses to the assigned domicile after training are the responsibility of the applicant. The candidate must possess the ability to react quickly using sound judgment, walk comfortably down an aircraft aisle, rapidly maneuver through overwing exits, fit into a jump seat harness without modifications, and efficiently fasten seatbelts. Basic computer skills and comfort using a tablet (e.g., iPad) are also required. Names on all forms of identification, such as passport, driver's license, and social security card must match. The ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is essential to receive and understand instructions, ensure safety, and effectively interact with customers. Personal characteristics sought include the ability to communicate respectfully with individuals from all backgrounds, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and work collaboratively within a team. Candidates must possess the ability to work under pressure, assess situations quickly, exercise good judgment, and respond effectively in emergencies. Punctuality, reliable attendance, and the presentation of a professional image are also essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a flight attendant is preferred.

Job Duties:

Flight Attendants will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Security: Conduct pre-boarding security checks of aircraft, customers and carry-on baggage; provide support to other crewmembers and leadership; and provide direction and assistance to customers in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Safety: Conduct pre-flight safety checks of the cabin area; ensure passengers are seated correctly and carry-on baggage is stowed properly; advise passengers and confirm compliance with safety regulations and procedures; and take necessary action to maximize customer and crew safety during unusual conditions such as decompression, turbulence, mechanical malfunction, medical emergencies, or unlawful acts. They are also responsible for assessing passengers for signs of intoxication and/or potential threat.
  • Comfort: Serve and sell food, snacks, alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages and goods to passengers, attend to special needs of passengers, and effectively communicate with customers individually and via intercom on matters related to their travel.
  • Administrative: Document and file all required reports, such as inventory and trip reports; complete international paperwork as necessary, upload onboard sales data in a timely manner; and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Required Training:

New hires must successfully complete a minimum 4 1/2 week training program including a minimum of 5 hours of Initial Operating Experience, maintain a 90% average or higher on all written and oral exams, and successfully perform the physical requirements of the job, including emergency/evacuation drills. They must participate in water emergency training, including entering a swimming pool while wearing a life jacket. Training hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Trainees will receive a daily per diem according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement to cover incidental costs. Employment is contingent on the successful completion of the entire training program. Ongoing training requires active participation in simulated emergency situations and physically operating aircraft emergency equipment. Additional requalification, differences, and transition training will be provided as needed.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands and fingers to operate plane equipment (i.e., food carts, plane doors, emergency equipment, etc.). The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs. may be required. The job also necessitates the ability to work varied shifts and days within a 24-hour period, regular attendance, and exposure to extreme noise, fluctuating temperatures and light, and the ability to work in confined areas and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods. Travel is a requirement of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Hourly Wage:

The starting wage is $29.23 per hour, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
