Job Overview

This part-time position requires a commitment of ten flying days per month, with approximately four hours of flight time allocated for each assigned duty day. The ideal candidate is a seasoned and professional instructor pilot possessing a valid Boeing 737NG type rating. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of flight safety and operational efficiency, ensuring strict adherence to all company policies, aviation regulations, and established operational procedures. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise to customer pilots regarding the operation of the Boeing 737NG aircraft as per customer requirements.
  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on Boeing 737NG aircraft when mandated by customer needs.
  • Assist with comprehensive pre-flight planning, encompassing weather assessment, fuel requirement calculations, weight and balance computations, and route analysis, as directed by the customer.
  • Ensure absolute compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and Public Use Aircraft regulations.
  • Effectively coordinate with ground crew, air traffic control, and dispatch personnel to facilitate punctual departures and arrivals.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight aircraft inspections to meticulously verify airworthiness.
  • Uphold strict adherence to company safety protocols, irregular operations, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain required currency in company aircraft and ensure compliance with all flight department policies and procedures.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Boeing 737NG type rating.
  • An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate with a multiengine rating. Alternatively, former military pilots may present a Commercial Pilot certificate with an instrument rating and an FAA-issued B-737 type rating.
  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
  • Multi-Engine Instructor Certificate (MEI).
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).
  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of total pilot time. Former military pilots operating multiengine aircraft (not limited to centerline thrust) may qualify with 1,500 hours. This total must include:
    • 250 hours of night flight time.
    • 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, with at least 50 hours in actual flight.
    • A minimum of 500 hours of turbojet experience.
    • At least 100 hours of turbojet flight time within the past 12 calendar months.
    • 50 hours of the turbojet flight time must have been in a turbojet aircraft or a Level C or D simulator.
  • 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command time in Jet Aircraft acquired within the preceding three (3) years.
  • 300 hours of Pilot-in-Command experience specifically on the B-737NG.
  • 350 hours of turbine engine instructor or check pilot time.
  • A minimum of a Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Prior Instructor Pilot experience within the U.S. Military.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics outlined below are representative of those an employee will encounter to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Flexibility to accommodate irregular work hours. Work is primarily conducted Monday through Friday, with 2 to 3 days of flying, potentially up to 8-hour missions. Weekend availability and occasional overnight flights may be required. All flights are within CONUS (Continental United States).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including flight bags and operational equipment.
  • Possess sufficient strength and dexterity to operate aircraft controls, doors, and emergency systems.
  • Maintain good vision (correctable to 20/20) and hearing, as mandated by FAA standards.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods while supporting flight operations.
  • The primary work environment is onboard aircraft, with intermittent periods spent in airport terminals and operational facilities.
  • Exposure to varying ambient conditions during pre-flight, flight, and post-flight activities.
