Position Summary
The Caravan Seaplane Captain serves as Pilot in Command (PIC), undertaking a critical role in facilitating company operations through the safe and efficient air transport of maintenance parts, supplies, and technical personnel to various work locations. This position demands a commitment to executing all assigned flight duties in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company standard operating procedures, prioritizing safety, precision, and operational excellence on every mission. The Captain is based at Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport (TMB) in Miami, Florida, and must reside within a one-hour radius of this location.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures safe and efficient flight operations for all assigned trips while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, coordinating and leading deliveries effectively.
- Greets passengers, assists with seating, and manages luggage and freight storage.
- Thoroughly reviews all customer service aspects, including parts pick-up/drop-off, refueling, customs procedures, and vendor communications during deliveries.
- Conducts passenger briefings as required.
- Adheres strictly to all duties and responsibilities outlined in company procedures manuals.
- Maintains a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate and promptly notifies the company of any medical condition that may impair flight duties.
- Ensures compliance with duty time limitations and rest requirements, maintaining qualifications, currency, proper attire, and possession of all required certificates, licenses, and permits.
- Assumes primary responsibility for the safety of passengers and cargo onboard.
- Complies with all Federal Aviation Regulations, the Company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Company Policies and Procedures.
- Updates flight and duty records, determines eligibility for subsequent assignments, and reports aircraft maintenance discrepancies in accordance with company procedures.
- Proactively participates in safety and quality systems by identifying, reporting, and mitigating hazards and quality issues, providing timely input to management, and applying system processes.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Possesses strong organizational skills and advanced multi-tasking abilities.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and presentation skills.
- Exhibits excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in using computer software necessary for word processing, email, web-based, and mobile device applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Teams, Excel).
- Possesses a passionate attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be highly knowledgeable of the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Policies and Procedures, and other pertinent aviation information.
- Able to successfully complete the company training program, demonstrating proficiency with job requirements.
- Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment, including verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and other relevant information.
- This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under FAA regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
Flight Hour Requirements
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate
- Commercial Single Engine Land Pilot License with Instrument Rating
- IFR Proficiency and Currency
- 1,200 total flight hours
- 500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- 500 hours Cross-Country
- 100 hours Night
- 75 hours Instrument (50 hours in actual flight)
- 25 hours Seaplane

Work Environment and Physical Demands
The work environment includes exposure to loud noises typical of aircraft machinery and jet engines, operating within outdoor and industrial/hangar settings which may involve exposure to extreme temperatures. Work is often performed within the typical business aircraft interior, which can be a tight or cramped space.
Physical demands require the ability to see and hear clearly, read, comprehend, and speak English clearly. The role involves physical activities such as climbing, twisting, bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and moving in tight quarters. Captains must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, and regularly push/pull up to 70 pounds and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $110,000
- Per Diem: $66 per day (domestic), $85 per day (international) when overnight away from base.

Dress Code

Travel
This is an on-call position requiring travel, with a schedule that includes 5 guaranteed hard days off per month.
