Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college is preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and audibly in emergency situations.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Italian fluently.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Capacity to communicate effectively during high-stress situations, including aircraft evacuations, security threats, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
- Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, fingers, or neck. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not be larger than a credit card and cannot be offensive.
- No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth.
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops).
- Must possess a valid passport book with at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of application.
- Must currently possess a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas and be eligible to travel globally without restrictions.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to overhead bin height), and push/pull a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, supporting a 24/7 operation.
- Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in water during training.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens; medical and recreational marijuana are prohibited.
- Must pass a 10-year background check, ensuring no travel restrictions to any United destinations.
- Must meet FAA and United Airlines hearing and vision requirements, including specific audiometry and visual acuity standards.

Training and Onboarding
The journey begins with a 6.5-week Initial Training program in Houston, TX, covering United’s safety and service standards. Upon successful completion, trainees will be assigned a base location and will attend base orientation. Relocation funds are not provided.
