Job Summary
Flight Attendants are responsible for ensuring the highest levels of safety and providing exceptional customer service to passengers. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to represent United Airlines with pride. Successful candidates will undergo extensive training to uphold United's safety and service standards.

Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours, fulfilling reserve assignments on short notice and being away from base for extended periods.

Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a diligent and professional manner.
Qualifications

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.

High school graduate or GED; 2 or more years of college is preferred.

At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).

Ability to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner, audibly sufficient for emergency situations.

Fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.

Must be able to read and speak Dutch fluently.

Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.

Ability to effectively communicate during high-stress situations, including aircraft evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.

Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, fingers, or neck, and cannot be covered by makeup or bandages. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not exceed credit card size (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) and must not be offensive. Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.

Proficiently operate electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.

Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of application.

Currently in physical possession of a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas, demonstrating eligibility to travel globally without restrictions. Passport books must be in good condition.

Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United without restrictions.

Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (up to overhead bin height), and push/pull beverage carts up to 250 lbs.

Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes, to operate necessary equipment and doors.

Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting United's 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays on scheduled or reserve days.

Must successfully complete an evacuation drill in the water (pool) during training.

Willing to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.

Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.

Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history, ensuring no travel restrictions to any United destination.

Meet hearing and vision requirements as established by the FAA and United Airlines, including specific audiometry and visual acuity standards.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88/hour, with top of base scale at $67.11/hour.
