Flight Attendant

Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be prepared for multi-day trips away from base.

Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a diligent and professional manner.

Operate electronic devices for task completion.

Assist with lifting heavy objects and pushing/pulling beverage carts.

Participate in required training, including water survival drills.
Qualifications and Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
-
High school graduate or GED required; 2 or more years of college preferred.

A minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, education, aviation, social service).

Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and loudly enough to be heard in an emergency.

Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
-
Fluent in Dutch (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).

Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
-
Effective communication skills in high-stress situations (e.g., evacuations, security threats, medical emergencies).

Professional appearance, adherence to grooming standards, and willingness to follow uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, fingers, or neck, and any visible tattoos must not be offensive and adhere to size limitations.

No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth.

Proficient in operating electronic devices.

Must possess a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with at least 18 months of validity remaining at the time of application.

Must have current physical possession of a valid passport book and be eligible to travel globally without restrictions.

Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United Airlines without restrictions.

Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).

Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold, without shoes).
-
Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, to support a 24/7 operation.

Willingness to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.

Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.

Ability to pass a 10-year background check, ensuring no travel restrictions to any United Airlines destinations.

Must meet Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines hearing and vision requirements, including specific standards for corrected vision and hearing loss.

Starting hourly flight pay of $28.88, with potential to reach $67.11 per hour at the top of the base scale.
