United Airlines is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. This role offers comprehensive training in Houston, TX, covering United's safety and customer service standards. Upon successful completion of the 6.5 week program, individuals will be welcomed as full-time employees and assigned to one of seven hubs: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or another flight attendant base location.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety, adhering to the highest safety standards.
  • Demonstrate a "People-First" approach, adapting to diverse customer needs.
  • Engage directly with customers, providing excellent interpersonal skills and resolving issues with empathy.
  • Promote customer loyalty through exceptional service.
  • Represent United Airlines with professionalism and pride.
  • Maintain availability for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice, potentially being away from base for extended periods.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or GED required; 2 or more years of college preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
  • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
  • Must be able to read and speak German fluently.
  • Ability to speak clearly and loudly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Effectively communicate in high-stress situations.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards.
  • Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months validity remaining.
  • Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
  • Ability to pass a functional reach assessment.
  • Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful completion of an evacuation drill in water (pool) during training.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens (medical/recreational marijuana prohibited).
  • Ability to pass a 10-year background check.
